Formal shoe models are most often equipped with various types of leather soles. Boots and winter shoes have rubber soles, which provide waterproofing, high traction, and safety.
We always choose soles from trusted and renowned manufacturers to ensure that every pair of shoes bought from us stands out for its high quality, reliability, durability, and most importantly, is repairable!
Below, you will find descriptions of most types of soles from our range.
Leather soles - open channel stitching
All leather soles in our range are of high quality and undergo special tanning, which enhances their durability. At the very end, the sole is often additionally hand-darkened and waxed. A standard leather sole has an open channel where the stitch connecting it to the welt is visible.
Leather soles - closed channel stitching
All leather soles in our range are of high quality and undergo special tanning, which enhances their durability. At the very end, the sole is often additionally hand-darkened and waxed. Some shoe models in our range have a hand-closed stitching channel. Thanks to this process, the soles have a beautiful and smooth appearance and their wear resistance is further increased.
Leather soles with hand patina
Certain and limited shoe models in our range have additionally hand-patinated leather soles and a covered channel. Fratelli Borgioli, our manufacturer from Italy, patinates the soles to a beautiful red-burgundy color, which is their hallmark. The artistic patina combined with the closed stitching channel creates an amazing effect.
Leather soles with a partially covered stitching channel
Leather soles, which we use in summer shoes sewn with the Bologna method, most often have a partially covered stitching channel. This means that the stitching channel is much deeper than standard and is covered by a relatively thick leather lip. Thanks to this detail, shoes sewn with the Bologna method with such a sole become much more durable.
Leather soles with a rubber insert
Leather soles in our shoes sewn with the Blake method often have an additional insert in the middle made of rubber, which provides greater traction but also increases their durability.
The addition of rubber does not limit flexibility in any way.
York soles
The York sole is made of rubber and has no visible tread. Its profile is only slightly thicker than that of a leather sole and additionally has a decorative piece of leather sewn on the shank. It is an ideal sole for those who appreciate the practicality of rubber soles but want to maintain the subtlety of shoes sewn on a leather sole.
Dainite soles
A type of rubber sole that is known worldwide and has been produced in England continuously since 1900. Perhaps the most recognizable feature of Dainite soles is the series of studs. Initially, the sole is quite stiff but quickly becomes flexible and comfortable to wear. It is very well suited for boots and winter shoes.
Vibram soles
Vibram is an Italian brand of soles known for their very high traction and lightness. The soles from this manufacturer can be found in specialized trekking and outdoor shoes. The brand and technology were created to ensure safety for people exploring mountain ranges.
We offer several types of Vibram soles. In boots and shoes with a more subtle character, we use button-type soles that are less massive and have only a series of studs, just like in Dainite soles. Boots intended for winter are often sewn on Vibram Cleated soles, which have a high and massive tread. We also focus on Vibram Lightweight soles, which are incredibly light and flexible.
Commando soles
The Commando sole design was developed in the 1930s by the British army. This type of sole is very durable and has a massive tread, making it great for wearing in any terrain and any season. Boots with this type of sole immediately gain a military character and are perfect for casual and outdoor sets!
Crepe soles
