Partigiani Tailoring Jackets & Trousers
How to Care for Your Jacket
Jacket Care & Maintenance
Partigiani jackets are crafted from the finest natural fabrics, while their construction is based on a soft wool-and-cotton canvas. The elegant drape and shape of the jacket are largely the result of precise tailoring and pressing, which give it its distinctive three-dimensional form. For this reason, proper care is essential. Below, we share our recommendations for keeping your jacket in perfect condition.

Your jacket should always be stored on a wide, well-shaped hanger that properly supports the natural line of the shoulders (a narrow shirt hanger may distort the shoulder construction).

When hanging in your wardrobe, your jacket should have a little space around it.
(Overcrowding may flatten or distort the carefully pressed lapels.)

Like your shoes, your jacket should be given time to rest after a long day of wear. Allow moisture to evaporate naturally and the fabric to recover its original shape.

It is a good idea to leave your jacket outside the wardrobe overnight, allowing any moisture to evaporate naturally. Airing the jacket also helps eliminate unwanted odours and discourages clothes moths, which are attracted to perspiration and damp fabrics.

Your jacket should only be dry cleaned by a trusted professional cleaner, and only when stubborn stains cannot be removed by gentler methods.

Most light dirt, such as dust or lint, can easily be removed using a soft horsehair brush.
We recommend thoroughly brushing the outer fabric once a month to remove dust and restore the nap of the cloth. This effectively refreshes the appearance of the jacket while avoiding the unnecessary wear associated with frequent dry cleaning.

When ironing creases, always place a pressing cloth between the iron and the fabric. Wool and other natural fibres recover remarkably well on their own, often requiring nothing more than time or a gentle application of steam.

A garment steamer is an excellent way to refresh natural fabrics, but always ensure the temperature is suitable for the specific material. Avoid steaming the front of the jacket, as excessive steam may alter the carefully shaped lapels, chest and collar that were created during the tailoring process.

How to Care for Your Trousers

Partigiani trousers are crafted from the finest wool fabrics, which deserve proper care to maintain their appearance and longevity. Below, we share our recommendations for keeping them in excellent condition.

Wool trousers should always be hung over a trouser hanger, neatly folded along the crease.

When stored in your wardrobe, your trousers should have a little space around them. Overcrowding may distort the waistband and leave unwanted creases in the fabric.
