What many people do not realize, however, is that the finer the fabric, the greater the care it requires. We are proud to say that we are just as passionate and experienced in garment care as we are in shoe care. Just as we want our customers to enjoy their classic shoes for many years, we also want their clothing to remain in outstanding condition for as long as possible.

A well-made suit, jacket, or pair of trousers is an investment that can last for many years—provided it is cared for correctly. Frequent dry cleaning, especially when unnecessary, may damage delicate luxury fabrics and can also cause discoloration or deterioration of horn, corozo, or walnut buttons. For this reason, we recommend using dry cleaning only when absolutely necessary, such as in the case of serious stains that cannot be removed by other methods.

How should you care for a wool suit on a daily basis?

1. After taking off your jacket, gently brush it with a natural clothes brush and hang it on a properly shaped broad-shouldered hanger in a well-ventilated area.

2. Hang trousers upside down by the hems. Their own weight will naturally help smooth the fabric and maintain the crease.

3. Avoid wearing the same suit every day. As with quality shoes, garments benefit from regular rotation.

4. Ensure your wardrobe has good air circulation. Overcrowding garments in a closet can cause unnecessary creasing and reduce fabric longevity.

5. To reduce stress on the seams, unbutton your jacket before sitting down and gently pull your trousers upward at the thighs.

6. To preserve the shape of your jacket, avoid carrying items in the pockets. Many bespoke tailors even recommend keeping the pockets stitched closed unless they are genuinely needed.

7. At the end of the day, inspect your garment for stains. If you notice one, gently dab it with a damp cloth. Avoid vigorous rubbing, as excessive pressure may force the stain deeper into the fabric.
