Sole protection consists of applying a thin layer of rubber or leather to the front part of the outsole. This service has long had both supporters and opponents, but one fact is undeniable—it significantly extends the lifespan of leather soles.

Even the highest-quality leather soles, despite proper care, cannot withstand constant exposure to snow, rain, road salt, gravel, and thousands of kilometres of everyday walking. A protective sole helps prevent excessive wear while improving grip, with virtually no impact on the elegant appearance of the shoes. Concerns that a thin leather sole will become bulky or unattractive are, in our experience, unfounded.

We offer both leather and rubber sole protectors. Rubber protectors are available in several colours—black, brown, cream, navy, and red—allowing either a discreet match with the original sole or a more distinctive, individual look.

Leather sole protectors are colour-matched to the welt, creating a refined and natural appearance. The photo shown presents an example in a natural leather finish.
